Lake Placid Mayor reviews Invasive Species projects

Groups in Keene Valley are sponsoring fun and ecducational activities to help build awareness and we took the opportunity to speak with Lake Placid’s Mayor Craig Randall about projects which have been undertaken by the Village of Lake Placid in recent years, along with ongoing projects to protect the community from invasive and unwanted plants and bugs.

ARTA Unveils new Study Today at 5pm 07/11/12

 The next big step toward creating a 90-mile recreational trail between Lake Placid and Old Forge will be taken at a public meeting at 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at the Harrietstown Town Hall in Saranac Lake. Those interested in the recreational and economic development of the region are urged to attend. Here’s the audio of the story which I presented at 11:06am regarding tonight’s meeting. It includes Audio of a discussion with Dick Beamish who is a member of ARTA and a Recreational Trail Advocate.

Mary sends an email suggesting that I should not have “Condemned” Time Warner Cable for taking WPTZ out of the lineup. I read her email on the air and responded by saying that I didn’t think I had condemned the cable company, but rather the new NBC Affiliate was reporting on stabbings and I recalled living outside of the Adirondacks and thinking that it is better not to have to report on those issues day in and day out.  Afterwards, callers commented on WPTZ and cable rates.
