The 90 Miler has over 250 boats, That’s the word from Gloria Volz who is the Start Finish Line Captain for the Adirondack Classic Canoe Race. She spoke with the Mayor and Village Trustees about the organizer’s plans for the annual event which takes paddlers from Old Forge to Blue Mountain Lake, and then from Bissell’s Field in Long Lake to the Crusher… and then from Fish Creek Campgrounds to Saranac Lake on Day Three…  Volz says they’re already above last year’s numbers… AUDIO (Gloria Volz) “There are 250 boats, which means 500 paddlers and 2,00o spectators in Saranac Lake at the Finish”

The girls ended up being seeded 7th heading into single elimination on Sunday. Facing the 10th seeded Hoosic Valley Indians, Olivia Jaques again had a strong outing allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits while walking 4 and striking out 2 winning that game 3-2.     The girls faced the undefeated Lansingburgh Royals next and played good ball but fell 6-2. Serina Hayes led the Chill offensively and defensively. Captain Cooks and Romanos both appear to have had an easy time of it in their playoff contests yesterday… Cooks beat Waterhole 14 to 1 and Grizzle T’s beat their Romano’s 16 to 2…  They lead the best 2 out of three now each 1 to nothing and it looks now like Capt Cooks will take on Grizzle T’s in the finals when all is said and done..
