Tupper Lake 07/10/12 – The Tupper Lake Woodsmans Days kick off this Friday evening with a welcome Bar B Que and Music by Bitter Sweet in the Outfiled Pavilion…  The second weekend in July typically marks this festive event which includes the Annual Woodsmen’s Day Parade which kicks off at 10am on Saturday and runs fromPark Streetto theMunicipalPark…  The Mens and Women’s competition begins in the Grandstand Area at 11am with a noontime Official Grand Opening Ceremony…  Tupper Lake’s Woodsmen’s Days continues through the day on Saturday – at 12:30 following the opening ceremony, a 60 minute quick carve chainsaw carving contest gets underway with an auction to follow at the outfield pavilion. – the Loading Operator Contest begins at 1pm in the Heavy Equipment Area with logging and Equipment Demos throughout the park all day..  7:30 on Saturday marks the beginning of the Night Games, including the Tug of War, the greased Pole climb and others in the Grandstand area..

 Sunday’s schedule includes the 11amAdirondack’s Largest Horse Pull Competition in the Grandstand followed by the Chainsaw carving contest – another quick carve followed by another auction at 12:30…  and the Heavy Equipment Competition in the Heavy Equipment area..  Woodsmen’s Days inTupperLakethis Saturday and Sunday.. and the Welcome Bar B Que at the Pavilion on Friday.. a full weekend of outdoor activities and competition inTupperLake..

 Essex County Planners are applying to the office of parks recreation and historic preservation withNorth Elbaas the Applicant and the Village of Saranac Lake is a partner in the application having the old landfill site having the potential for redevelopment.SaranacLake’s Village Board votes unanimously to support the grant application..
