16U Girls Softball – 3rd in Vermont Championships

The Adirondack Chill 16U softball club ended their season Sunday in the Vermont State Championships played at Georgia Beach Park. The team went 4-1 for the weekend and finished in 3rd place.

SPORTS 08/07/12 SHORTS – U16 Softball and NYSEF

     The Chill opened up against the Vermont Thunder I and came away with a 10-6 victory. Sydney Battistoni and Nicole Viscardo had 3 hits each. Serina Hayes had 2 hits and 4 RBI and Erin McDonald had 2 hits. Alexa Prue was the winning pitcher.
     Game 2 was a 10-7 win over the Vermont Cougars. Viscardo struck out 4 and walked 4 for the pitching win and knocked in 3 runs to help her own cause. Carissa Kennedy had 2 hits to lead the offense. Hayes and Jordy McDougall had 2 RBI each.
     Serina Hayes threw a 2 hit shutout, striking out 7 and walking just 1 as the team rolled to a 16-0 victory over the Vermont Rippers in game 3. Haley Brandes had 2 hits and 4 RBI and Erin McDonald had 2 hits and 3 RBI to lead the offense.
     Seeded #2 heading to Sunday’s single elimination phase the Chill rolled over #7 seed Vermont Thunder II 12-0. Prue picked up her second win of the weekend scattering 3 hits, striking out 4 and no walks. Hayes, McDougall and Battistoni led the offense with 2 hits each.
     The #3 seed Vermont Rockets took down the Chill in the Semifinals 8-6. 4 defensive errors led to 4 unearned Rocket runs. Hayes took the loss in relief. Kennedy and McDougall led the offense with 3-for-4 performances. McDonald had 2 hits and Viscardo contributed 4 RBI’s.
