The Lake Placid Classic Continues as 199 teams in 15 different divisions of play and youth Lacrosse Camps converge on Lake Placid, and three primary sites including the North Elba Fields, The Horse Show Grounds, andNorthwoodSchool.  For spectators, theNorth Elbafields act as the tournament headquarters with food and other vendors, tournament information, security, and other services.


 We start with a look at the 2013-2015 Girls action – The Final was a close game pitting two very competitive teams head to head at 12:15 yesterday – Star Riders Blue has been strong through the entire tournament and Mass Elite a rival for the bragging rights in the bracket has scored aggressively heading up through the seedings – The final score for the Star Blue girls gives them the lead and breaks a tie contest – they win 13 to 12 over Mass Elite..  And for the Boys U18 Gold division, The FCA National High School Team won last year’s U18 Gold Division going undefeated with 6 wins and this year..  FCA takes the division again with a win in yesterday afternoon’s contest againstLiberty– The final a close one – FCA with 8 andLibertywith 7.. Mens Open Division One action gets under way Tomorrow at noon and Last year’s champions Burning Orange play their first round at 3pm at theNorth ElbaFields..  The Women start at 10:30 Friday –

 BurningOrangewas last year’s Mens Open Division 1 Winner, and the only undefeated team out of 16 in that division.. One undefeated team in the Women’s Open Division – that was Graph-Tex with 44 goals scored in the contest – they took the top spot out of 16 in the women’s top division..  


The Fall Sports Parent/Athlete meeting will take place on Monday August 6th 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium.  All Modified, JV and Varsity athletes need to attend.  The paperwork needed to participate will be available at this time. The general meeting will be followed by team meetings. Football gets underway on August 13th, and then on Wednesday that week, Soccer, Volleyball and Cross Country..  Modified sports kick off the 23rd for Soccer and the 27th for Football, Cross Country and Volleyball…


Black Fly Softball crowns a new champion – Captain Cooks wins 5 to 4 over Grizle T’s scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 7th to win the game and cooks with the win, takes championship honors for the 2012 Black Fly Softball season.
