The Village of Saranac Lake will honor Bob Pettee and Susan Neal, co-founders ofSaranacLake’s renowned Pendragon Theater.
Pettee and Neal moved toSaranacLakein 1980 and started what became the Pendragon Theater in a local school auditorium before moving to theLake PlacidCenterfor the Arts and eventually to their current location inSaranacLake, in a former ice cream warehouse, off theBrandy Brook Road.
Pendragon Theater has become a destination for entertainment in the Adirondacks, offering over 100 performances inSaranacLakealone, as well as other live theater performances in regional schools, colleges and other community venues.
Village Mayor Clyde Rabidau tells WNBZ “there’s been a great economic and cultural benefit from the passion and commitment Bob and Susan have given Pendragon for over three decades and he says the Village is indebted to them for this tremendous effort.”
