Trivia Teams Needed!
Teams are invited to compete in a 10-round Trivia Night on Saturday, Nov. 3. Brian Mann will prepare questions and serve as emcee for the evening at Saranac Village at Will Rogers. The SLHS Parent Faculty Organization (PFO) is sponsoring the fundraiser to buy a mobile computer lab for the high school.
Teams are invited to arrive at 7 pm to claim a table and enjoy the Scrumptious Dessert Buffet, complete with a chocolate fountain. Teams may also bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. At 7:30 pm, teams of eight will compete to correctly answer Mann’s 100 questions.
“Brian writes the best questions,” says Will Rogers Activity Director Debbie Kanze. “It’s competitive but really fun.”
Register early; a limit of 13 teams (maximum of 8 players) will be accepted. Reserve a table for $160 (ONLY $20 per person) by calling 637-1175 before October 31.
The PFO began raising money this year for the mobile lab to augment the limited computer availability. The lab is a cart outfitted with laptops that can be shared throughout the school. Original Smartypants Trivia is Back
Brian Mann and Susan Waters have hosted Trivia Nights to benefit a variety of organizations, including Adirondack Habitat for Humanity, Petrova Middle School Culture Club and the Community Store. With Saranac Village at Will Rogers as a partner, the evening provides spirited entertainment for the teams but also for Will Rogers’ residents who compete and spectate.
SLHS Parent Faculty Organization is well on its way toward purchasing two computer carts loaded with laptops. The fundraising effort began in July with a Flip Flop Gala and silent auction at Mt. Pisgah. Private donations have moved the total above $5,000 with a goal of approximately $30,000. Donors can take advantage of a current opportunity for contributions to be matched on the facebook group page https://www.facebook.com/groups/344643345564154/ It’s also possible to donate through the Adirondack Community Trust at http://www.generousact.org/donate by designating SLHS PFO.
