Village Mayor Clyde Rabidau tells WNBZ  “there’s been a great economic and cultural benefit  from the passion and commitment Bob and Susan have given Pendragon for over three decades and he says the Village is indebted to them for this tremendous effort.”

Pendragon Theater has become a destination for entertainment in the Adirondacks, offering over 100 performances inSaranacLakealone, as well as other live theater performances in regional schools, colleges and other community venues.

The Village Board also considered motions to approve new Fire District Rates for the Town ofHarrietstown, as of two years ago, The Village Board Voted to approve a rate structure for the Fire District based on Assessments which means the Town ofHarrietswtownpicks up most of the bill.. Their number is $233,700…. St Armand contributes $17,000,Santa Clara$57,0000North Elba’s portion of the Fire District totals $31,204 -

That’s North Elba Councilman Jack Favreau… As with Harrietstown, The Town of North Elba is the primary funding source for the Lake Placid Fire Department and After their regular meeting on Tuesday, We asked Board Members to characterize the value of that relationship – This is Derek Doty…

Favreau says the other consideration is the fact that Towns can’t necessarily support their own individual fire department…  and in addition, Council Miller says to the South of us, municipalities are attempting to develop a separate taxable fire district and those communities are having a difficult time.. and he says – sometimes you just have to give.. for the benefit of the community you serve..  and… if you’re providing the majority of the funding..

The Town ofNorth Elbadoes in fact play a role in the decision making process and the board says the relationship is a good one..  Interestingly, this week is Fire Prevention Week -
