Born in Lake Kushaqua, New York on September 18, 1933, he was the son of Perley and Teresa (MacDonald) Jacobs. Carl married Grace Patricia Johnson on February 27, 1965. She predeceased him on October 9, 2005.
Carl has been a life-long resident of the area and worked as cable trouble technician for New York Telephone from 1956 until his retirement in 1989. He had been a member of Mountain Valley REACT, the Amvets and enjoyed being a handyman. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War.
He is survived by one brother Thomas Jacobs of Saranac Lake, one sister Patricia Jacobs of Sun Valley, CA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one sister Joan Gavigan.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 PM on Friday at the funeral Home with Rev. Bill Muench officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels.
