Kathleen Murphy, 58, of Saranac Lake passed away on October 31st 2012 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Kathleen Murphy was born on September, 24th 1954 in New York City the daughter of George and Rosemary (Spielman) Murphy.
Kathy moved around NY before finally settling in the Adirondacks where she found herself in love with its nature and beauty. Kathy was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Saranac Lake. Kathy had also recently become a member of the Common ground garden in Saranac Lake. Where she worked with other members on making the Garden handicap accessible, the project finally broke ground on October 13th of this year and two handicap accessible garden beds were built. The common ground garden members will finish the project in Kathy’s memory and the beds will be ready for use at the start of the next growing season. Kathy was a sweet and modest women loved by many. Her good nature, warm heart and kind personality will be greatly missed.
Kathy is survived by her brother George of Huntington, NY, and also her Sister Susan Schemer of Hillsborough, NJ, and her brother John of Williamsburg, VA, her niece Christine Dowd of Salisbury, VT and niece Nancy Myers of NJ and nephews Richard Scheurer of NC and Janson Murphy of FL.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Monday November 5, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
