K&J – First Night Saranac Lake

Presenting the FIRST NIGHT® SARANAC LAKE 2013 Button

The 2013 button for this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration was created by Janet Simkins on behalf of the Women’s Civic Chamber incorporating their organization’s logo “Lake of the Clustered Stars” in her December 2009 design.

K&J – 122112 – First Night Saranac Lake 2013

First Night invites community organizations to create banners for each year’s New Year’s Eve celebration. The banners are hung at the Harrietstown Town Hall and at various locations throughout Saranac Lake. Each year a button design is selected from one of the contributing organization’s designs from previous years.

The Saranac Lake First Night all-volunteer board works throughout the year to create a schedule of music, comedy, storytelling, and magic performances that will appeal to people of all ages. Our mission is to bring the community together to celebrate the arts and welcome in the New Year.

Start planning your New Year’s evening by using the First Night® schedule with its listing of entertainment, venues, and times of performances. All entertainment sites are indoors.

Admission to all venues is gained by showing your First Night® 2013 Button. Buttons are $12 for adults and can be purchased starting in Mid-November at Ampersound Music, Price Chopper Supermarket (Lake Placid), Books & Baskets, Blueline Sports, ADK Daily Enterprise, Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the Lake Placid Visitor Bureau. Children 12 & under are FREE. All button sales are final.

Wear your button on your outer clothing for quick access to all venues. Children twelve and under are admitted free but need to display the First Night® children’s button which will be available at all venues.

Purchasing a First Night® button not only provides entry to all venues but extends your support to this community activity. All First Night® artists and performers are paid for their participation. In addition to button sales, support for First Night Saranac Lake comes from community business contributions and private donations, as well as from grants from organizations that support First Night values.

Plan ahead, dress comfortably, wear your walking shoes or boots, and layer your clothing! Be flexible – there’s plenty of entertainment to go around, but you may not be able to attend a specific performance if the venue is full when you get there.

Don’t miss the excitement at midnight with our Snowflake Ball Drop on River Street and the fireworks finale on Lake Flower!
