Sous chef Emmett Stiles (left, kneeling) and cuisinier James Porter create ice carvings for Thursday night’s (Dec. 6) Joy to the Children, to be held at the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid. The event benefits children’s programming at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
The overwhelming success of Joy to the Children over the years is testimony to our community’s desire for, and awareness of, the importance for arts for children. “The Joy to the Children Benefit, has been the cornerstone of all of the LPCA Children’s programs for the last 25 years. Lisa Weibrecht started this fundraiser to specifically bring more cultural opportunities to the youth in our area. Now, the Benefit not only supports all of the LPCA arts outreach programs for youth, but has enabled LPCA to build a stronger base of additional supporters and foundations who share the Weibrecht’s commitment to the youth of our region.
The evening, which raises funds for children’s programs, will feature a silent auction with dozens of items, entertainment, heavy finger foods & libations. Help light up the eyes of children with exceptional arts programs throughout the year. For more information, reservations, or to receive an invitation by mail, call the LPCA at 518-523-2512.
