Rumors of the great Tupperware harvest in Tupper Lake have been greatly exaggerated, but the great icicle harvest in Saranac Lake is no myth. Jackie Foster coordinates the Annual Spike of the Ice Icicle Contest for the Winter Carnival Committee and she’ll be at the Ice Palace on Sunday to help find the longest Naturally Formed icicles.. Judging begins at 3:30 on Sunday and the final measurement will be the largest, intact piece of ice.
Saranac Lake’s Mayor Clyde Rabideau will be down the street in Riverside Park at 1pm for the newest Winter Carnival Event.. The Mayor’s Snowball toss.. The First Sunday of Winter Carnival is also the date of the Friends of Mt Pisgah Arctic Bar B Que which begins at 11am and runs through 2:30pm at Mt Pisgah… Saturday’s Highlights include the Petrova Winter Carnival from 11 to 2 at Petrova, The Curling and Woodsmans Exhibitions at 11am and the Ladies Fry Pan Toss which kicks off at 12:30pm in Riverside Park..
