High Water Hits 19 Inches Above Spillway

AUDIO – 061813 – High Water and Hydroelectricity in Saranac Lake

Saranac Lake Village Manager John Sweeney says “don’t be surprised if the high water and the risk of flooding continues for several more weeks.” The high water mark so far this year was 19 inches and occurred just last week.  Sweeney says there’s a lot of water which is still up stream from Lake Flower..

The Lake Placid Horse Show is June 25th through the 30th and the I Love New York Horse Show runs July 2nd through the 7th. We spent some time with Lori Martin..  She’s the executive director of the Lake Placid Horse show Association.

State Senate Passes 22 bills for Hurricane Sandy Relief

The New York State Senate passes a comprehensive legislative package that provides relief to people and communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The group of 22 bills will aid rebuilding efforts, and increases disaster preparedness while providing needed financial assistance to homeowners, businesses, local governments, school districts, and others still recovering from the storm
