Gillibrand Wants More Oversight on Sexual Assault in the Military

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has been on the front lines of the fight to reduce sexual assaults in the military and her efforts to prosecute military cases outside the chain of command has been hampered by many of her colleagues but recently she’s found support from conservatives Rand Paul and Ted Cruz…  The issue of sexual assaults in the Military was brought to light in a Pentagon report detailing 26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military, with alcohol being one major factor. The Report also says the majority of victims and attackers are young, enlisted, and that nearly two thirds of the attacks happen on base.  And backers of Senator Gillibrand’s proposals say the status quo is not working… Senator Gillibrand says there has to be better oversight..
