In Saranac Lake, if your drive would normally take you through downtown or onto Route 3, you may want to find an alternative today.. Saranac Lake DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora says the state will be paving on the stretch of Route three spot patching areas which are creating problems for vehicles.. Repairs are also planned today to fix the wear and tear on the intersection of Route 3 and Main Street which is down to the original brick in many places and crews will be re-paving sections of Main Street next to Little Italy which were uncovered to clear the way to water and sewer pipes below earlier in the year.. Flaggers will be controlling traffic on Main Street in Downtown Saranac Lake and on River Street today and the DOT recommends choosing an alternate route if possible..

Tomorrow, from 8am until about 4pm, Kiwassa Road will be closed between Branch Farm Road and the Kiwassa Road Entrance of St. Joes for the installation of water and sewer lines. Traffic traveling to a destination on Kiwassa Road beyond Branch Farm road will be detoured through the Glenwood Entrance of St. Joes to the Kiwassa Road Entrance and vice versa.
