Back to School in no time flat.. and while as with other years, the opening of school is always a little more confusing for students getting to and from their respective buildings.. At Wednesday’s Saranac Lake School Board Meeting, The District’s Superintendent Diane Fox says September is not far away.. She explains that the School Board will be placing a newly revised bus transportation map in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise as the first day of school approaches..
The new map will provide more detail than in years past about routes and their timing as well as a bit more detail as to where and when students should come and go from home. Terry Turbity commented that he had visited the bus garage recently and was very impressed with the facility.. Board Vice President Clyde Baker agreed having just been for a visit as well. Fox Challenged the rest of the school board to make a point of checking in at the bus garage..
Universal Pre-K short of spots for Students;
Fox also says they’re running up on a firm deadline for Placement of new students into the Universal Pre-K program and the changes necessitated by a temporary change in licensing status of Doug’s Place which was originally slated to accept 6 children. She tells us they hope to have all of the details settled by the end of the week.. They’re currently trying to work with local providers and asking them to consider a few options but she was hesitant to give us all of those details..
