Not one.. But two votes in support of applications for Empire State Development Grant Funding in the Village of Saranac Lake…. One for the Lake Flower Avenue Hotel Project and another for the purchase and renovation of The Hotel Saranac which is now under contract to be sold.. The Deadline for Consolidated Funding Applications is next Monday (August 12th) and at a special board meeting, Village Trustees voted to support both projects, and to authorize a Planned Urban Development District for the Lake Flower Avenue Hotel Project.. Chris Lebarge is the Developer.. He spoke to the board on Monday Evening about why this will benefit all of the participating agencies.. The board approved both the Planned Unit Development request for the four properties on Lake Flower Avenue and confirmed their support for the Lake Flower Avenue Hotel Project’s Consolidated Funding Application..
Later in the meeting, Mayor Rabideau introduced another Bill – Number 127 – Saying The Roedell Family has entered into a contract to Purchase the Hotel Saranac.. Fred Roedel III, a fourth-generation summer resident of Saranac Lake and a principal in the Roedel Companies, announced the company’s plans to the mayor and other local and state officials last week as the company is putting together a grant funding application for part of the projected investment.
