Owens Unhappy with Appropriations

AUDIO – 080713 – Owens on Appropriations

U.S. employers in June advertised the most jobs in five years but hired fewer workers —a mixed sign for the recovering job market. The Labor Department is reporting more than 29 thousand Jobs added in June.. Taking the total number of jobs to 3.9 Million, still hiring has slowed slightly..  Jobs numbers will be affected directly by upcoming budget votes in Washington which are going to become problematic unless Congress finds a way to allow votes to the floor and when it comes to appropriations, Congressman Owens says he’s frustrated that funding bills aren’t making it to the floor for a vote.. The budget process is stalled – which means congress is likely to vote on a continuing resolution on October 1st which means spending simply roll over from the prior year..
