Underground Work Nearing Completion on Olive Street

The Saranac Lake Department of Public Works has successfully transferred all of the water services onto the newer 8” main on Olive Street. Saranac Lake DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora says Two street mains have also been transferred to the 8” line and Village crews have also transferred the hydrant by the post office to the 8” main. Sidewalk and curb removal as well as some street reconstruction and drainage installation will begin on or about the middle of next week, most likely Wednesday.  DPW crews are also working on paving preparation for Riverside Drive, Birch Street and Fawn Street.  Paving for those streets is tentatively set to start on Monday September 16th weather permitting.
