NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Get well soon Brian!
A beloved member of the 1010 WINS Family, Brian Carey, is recovering at a local hospital after being assaulted outside his Upper East Side apartment building Monday night.
Although Brian sustained a broken jaw, several bruises and a swollen eye in the attack, his spirits are “very high,” according to Ben Mevorach, Director of News and Programming for 1010 WINS.
Brian currently anchors weekday afternoon drive top of the hour 30-minute newscasts from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
He has been a popular voice on WINS for more than a decade — most of that time anchoring either morning or afternoon drive.
“I want to thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes. It means the world to me and I am deeply grateful for all of the support,” Carey said Thursday. My goal now is to get better as quickly as possible so I can get back to the job I love. Please keep me in your thoughts. Thank you”
We’re all wishing for Brian’s speedy recovery and look forward to having him back on the air soon.
