Pope Francis is getting frank.
He says the time has come for the world’s 1.1 billion Catholics to stop obsessing over “small-minded” issues like abortion, gay marriage and contraception.
He wants his flock to focus on compassion not condemnation.
In his first lengthy interview, Francis says “it is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time.”
The pope wants parishioners to pay more attention to helping the poor and disenfranchised.
While Francis’ message is sharply different from his predecessors — he stopped short or making any changes to the Catholic doctrine.
It’s a blunt message — what do you think about the change in tone from the Catholic Church?
