Winslow To Resign From Mass. House, Join Private Firm

BOSTON (AP) — State Rep. Daniel Winslow is resigning his seat in the state House of Representatives to accept a full-time post with a large software support company.

The Norfolk Republican said in a statement on Monday that he would leave the Legislature on Sept. 29 to become senior vice president and general counsel of Las Vegas-based Rimini Street, Inc.

Winslow is a former district court judge and served as chief legal counsel during the administration of former Gov. Mitt Romney. He was elected to the state House in 2010 and re-elected last year.

Winslow was a candidate earlier this year for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry. He lost in the Republican primary to Gabriel Gomez, who was later defeated in a special election by Democrat Edward Markey.
