Cuomo Helps with Funds for Lake Placid’s Palace Theatre

Governor Cuomo says there is $400,000 in available funding for the North Country Regional Economic Development Council which they can make available to theaters in northern New York. The council in June approved the reassignment of 2012 funds to the “Go Digital or Go Dark” campaign initiated by the Adirondack North Country Association and the Adirondack Film Society. The industry transition from 35 milimeter fillm projection to digital is forcing small historic theatres like the Palace Theatre in Lake Placid to either spend $75,000 a screen to convert to digital or go out of business..
