Harrietstown Approves 2014 Budget

The Town of Harrietstown has approved their proposed budget for 2014, The Change from 2013 represents a 1.7% increase in the budget heading into the 2014 fiscal year. The Tax rate, while affected by certain localized water districts is up about a penny for the majority of residents in the town, but the general fund outside and the highway outsiders will see an increase of about 5 and a half cents per thousand.. Fire Protection for everyone in the Town will also be increasing by about 9 cents per thousand… Craig Donaldson, The Highway Superintendent receives a salary of $58,940, he ran unopposed for the position in this last election and expressed his disappointment at Thursday’s Budget Hearing towards what he called a disparity between the level of compensation for department heads in the Town… He was upset because the Airport Manager will be paid $65,909 dollars in 2014..
