New York’s “State of Health”

The New York State Department of Health says enrollment numbers in the state are meeting or Exceeding their expectations..  

Danielle Hollohan is the Deputy Director for the New York State Department of Health.. In a telephone conference on Monday, Hollohan tells WNBZ that as of November 12th, 197,011 New Yorkers have been determined to be eligible for health insurance coverage, 88% of those are eligible for a qualified health plan and 12% qualify for Medicaid…  Of those, 48,162 have selected a plan… 24,509 for a qualified health plan and 23,653 for Medicaid..


Hollohan says The Department of Health also launched items earlier than most agencies..  and there are 3,900 trained certified and registered “Assistors” made up of  3,122 Brokers, 500 Navigators, and 290 certified application counselors..

The New York Department of Health estimates over the first three years that about 1.1 million people would enroll through the marketplace and they expect 513,000 would enroll in Medicaid over the same three years..
