Kasprzack’s Final Day as Mayor of Plattsburgh

Today is the last day in office for Plattsburgh Mayor Don Kasprzack.. On New Year’s Day tomorrow at 1pm, Mayor Elect James Calnon will be sworn in during an inauguration ceremony in the Auditorium at City Hall… City Court Judge Mark Rogers will deliver the Oath of Office to Calnon and to the incoming Common Council Board… The incoming board has already been busy working with Department Heads to better understand the budget issues facing each of the departments and during several worksessions they’ve begun discussing the issues relating to getting their terms started, one of which will be the Plattsburgh Library Fund which Kasprzack was forced to manipulate in order to balance the city’s budget earlier in the year. The Incoming Council will be inaugurated Wednesday at 1pm and their first formal meeting is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. An organizational meeting will be followed by the regular order of business, which, with newly elected Mayor James Calnon at the helm, may look a little different than the current administration..
