Mayor Proclaims “Ivy Huber” Appreciation Day

Today is Ivy Huber Appreciation Day in The Village of Saranac Lake.. Mayor Clyde Rabideau in a proclamation Monday Evening acknowledging Ivy’s Success in being named to the Conference All State Singers by the New York State Music Association..    Ivy is a Junior in Saranac Lake and has her eyes on Ithaca, Crane and Fredonia.. Mayor Rabideau presented Ivy with a plaque bearing an official proclamation honoring her success in the High School Music Program…Ivy was chosen to participate, not only in zone 6 where more than 50 Saranac Lake Students were participating, (which is where we asked her to sing for us in the hallway) but also at the state conference in Rochester which took place over the weekend.. Saranac Lake High School Choral Director Drew Benware says even a score of 100 doesn’t guarantee a spot in the All State Mixed Chorus..

The High School Winter Concert in Saranac Lake is scheduled for Monday next week – December 16th – at 7pm in the High School Auditorium.. The festive event is a wonderful showcase of all of the musical talent at the school and features the festival chorus, the Jazz Ensemble, the Mens and Womens Select Vocal Ensembles, the Concert Band, and Concert Choir and it’s become more than just a high school concert but a traditional part of the holidays in the region..
