Lake Placid Central School District administrators are using a new online resource called “Board Docs”…. It’s a paperless meeting system for the board of education which includes all of the necessary documents online in one convenient searchable database.. The School’s Clerk, Karen Angelopolis says it’s going to save a lot of time, money, and it will also increase transparency for the district and in order to access it, you simply go to the school’s website..
If you go to the school’s website you’ll see a section with all of the documentation and the information updated on a consistent basis.. right now, they’re working on adding information to the database but it will become a searchable record of the work being done by the board and by the administration..
Karen says this new system is something that’s been in the works.. it just needed a push in the right direction..
We asked Superintendent Roger Catania about this online tool… as a way to network with other schools that are also participating on Board Docs.. “School board meeting won’t be changed by Board Docs,” Catania says, but we will have an opportunity to streamline the system of communication.”
