Australian Soldier Died of Hypothermia / Suicide

011614 - Paul McKay 01 - Search GridState Police have located the body of a man who is tentatively being identified as missing Australian soldier, 33 year Old Paul McKay.. The body was located near the summit of Scarface Mountain in the Town of North Elba shortly after 11am Wednesday. Forensic investigators were flown to the mountain by state police helicopter and there are no signs of foul play in the initial investigation.

Paul’s Body was transported to Adirondack Medical Center where an Autopsy determined the cause of death to be arrhythmia due to hypothermia… Essex County Coroner Francis Whitelaw has ruled the manner of death to be suicide..  The State Police will be handling the death investigation and will work with McKay’s Family to have his body transported back to Australia as soon as the investigation is concluded..
