Work Begins Behind Harrietstown Town Hall

Construction work on the Electrical System at the rear of the Harrietstown Town Hall could have an impact on Winter Carnival Events scheduled in the Auditorium.. As February approaches, work will begin on the Electric Service to the Building and as Supervisor Bob Bevilacqua explains, that means access to the emergency exits in the Auditorium will be limited.. Bevilacqua says Repair of the Electric Service in the building is part of the project to replace the retaining wall in the river behind the Town Hall..

The Town Board has also approved a bond resolution to finance work on a list of projects for the Town Hall. In their resolution the Board approved borrowing up to $750,000 subject to a permissive referendum.. The bonds would finance the cost of the project including the improvements to the town hall, environmental studies, architectural and legal fees, and other expenses related to the renovations..  During Winter Carnival Events, both entrances will be cleared so that they can be used as emergency exits..   We’ll have more updates on the progress of the Ice Palace and a conversation with Winter Carnival Chairman Eric Foster in the coming days here on WNBZ.. Our Coverage of Winter Carnival on WNBZ is brought to you by Plattsburgh Ford..  Winter Carnival Kicks off January 31st with the Coronation at the Harrietstown Town Hall sponsored by the Women’s Civic Chamber…
