Analyzing Broadband in Franklin County

Town of Franklin Supervisor Art Wilman and Harrietstown Supervisor Bob Bevilacqua are reaching out to property owners in their Towns and asking them to to take part in a brief survey evaluating internet service over the next month.  FranklinCounty legislator Barb Rice says

“The goal of the survey is to collect data to support a business plan for the expansion and enhancement of broadband service into rural, underserved areas.” She continues by saying   “Communities that demonstrate a need may be eligible for grants and or low interest loans. And Participants in the survey will be eligible to win a round trip ticket on CapeAir for taking part in the survey and providing information.”

The information will be analyzed by students from PaulSmithsCollege and a report will be presented to each town.

“The real world experience the students derive from working on a collaborative project of this nature is rewarding and valuable from both a community and educational perspective” said Dr. Diane Litynski, Director Business Management & Entrepreneurship at PaulSmithsCollege.
