On February 15th at approximately 4:04 am, Plattsburgh City Police were called to 123 Cornelia Street for a reported assault on a male inside his apartment. Upon arrival police found the tenant of the apartment, Todd R. Bishop (29) in need of medical attention. The Victim was transported and treated at CVPH Emergency Room suffering a fracture to his right cheekbone, an injury to his right eye and several severe facial lacerations.
During the course of the investigation City Police Detectives discovered that Heith J. Duprey (26) and Brad M. Aylward (27) both of West Chazy, NY forcefully entered the residence of Bishop and assaulted him. The investigation revealed the assault took place over the purchase and distribution of “K2” or Synthetic Marihuana in this area.
Both Males fled the scene and were hiding out in the Clinton County area. Aylward was apprehended on Tuesday at the America’s Best Value Inn in Plattsburgh. Duprey was located on Thursday at a residence in Keeseville and arrested without incident.
The follow charges were filed:
Brad M Aylward was arrested on 02/18/2014 for 1 count of Burglary in the 1st Degree (Class B Felony) and one count of Assault in the 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
Heith J Duprey was arrested on 02/20/2014 for 1 count of Burglary in the 1st Degree (Class B Felony) and one count of Assault in the 2nd Degree (Class D Felony).
Both Suspects were arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 secured bond.
