Andrew Meister’s LPHS Senior Project

If you’ve ever been stuck waiting on the corner in a rain shower without an umbrella or in a snow storm without the right jacket, you can start to get a feel for what Lake Placid Students deal with on a fairly regular basis when they’re on the ramp waiting to be picked up…  One Senior in the High School is going to change all that.. Andrew Meister says the idea originally came to from the concept of a bus stop shelter..

The project will cost just over one hundred dollars if all goes well and Meister hopes to receive a grant from the Lake Placid Wilmington CYC where he’s making a presentation later today on his project..  and if he receives the grant, he expects they’ll start building as soon as possible pending the approval of any permits to construct the shelter..One argument for the CYC to provide the grant for his project, Andrew says, is to help combat the impact of the weather on the way students are feeling in the North Country.. And so if all goes well, be on the lookout for Anderw’s new shelter from the rain and snow at the Lake Placid Middle High School.. Coming to the drop off ramp this spring..
