Brew Ski Rescheduled for Saturday

Brew-Ski-Poster-2014-662x1024A little Irish spirit is coming to the trails of the Tupper Lake Cross Country Ski Center this Saturday. The inaugural Tupper Lake Brew-Ski Trail will run from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the TupperLakeCrossCountrySkiCenter.  The Chamber’s Event’s Coordinator Michelle Clement says “Participants can Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe the golf course loop while sampling different area brews.” And she continued by saying the event was originally scheduled for March 1st but now that there is the green light to go, there is also a green twist added to the event in spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. Its the “Green” Sledding Completion.

At 2:00 pm the “Green” Sledding completion will take place on the sliding hill off the 10th fairway. Participants of all ages will compete for prizes on their “green” sleds. A “green” sled is any makeshift sled made out of recycled materials. The options are only limited to your imagination: a pizza box, broken hamper, old garbage can lid. Each competitor will get three tries down the groomed sledding hill. The farthest down the hill wins the competition. Prizes will also be awarded for the most creative sled.

In addition to beer and sledding, there will also be warming fires, music, camaraderie and more. “The event will have a true end-of-season party atmosphere” states Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce events coordinator, Michelle Clement. “The event to also serve as an appreciation party for the volunteers who tirelessly maintain and groom the CrossCountrySkiCenter.”
