The Daffest Derby grudge match between the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Director, Katy Van Anden and the Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce Events Coordinator, Michelle Clement has stemmed more than a little friendly competition. Though the match was fierce it acted as a kick off for a new Chamber alliance initiative.
After a series of coordination meetings and brainstorming sessions, both the Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake Chamber Boards brought the Alliance initiative up for vote during the Month of April. Both boards unanimously approved the creation recognizing the value and potential strength of sharing resources.
The partnership will focus on several different member services including education seminars and professional development workshops for owners and employees of member businesses, expanded regional advocacy to support a healthy business environment, marketing and exposure to promote member businesses and events, and increased networking opportunities to broaden our businesses customer base and potential partners.
Most notably, the Chamber’s will be offering a discounted alliance membership for those current and potential members wishing to join both the Saranac Lake and Tupper Chamber of Commerce providing maximum exposure.
To mark the start of the new alliance, the two chambers will be hosting a “pop-up” Chamber Alliance Mixer on Thursday, May 1 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Marketplace Pub & Deli located at 2494 Tupper-Saranac Highway in Tupper Lake.
