Bisso; Families Should Opt Out of Testing

Half of Plattsburgh City School District students who would have taken the 3rd and 8th grade ELA exams this week are refusing the Common Core exams. Karen Bisso is a candidate for the Assembly Seat in Clinton and Essex County and a teacher in Plattsburgh.. She says New York State’s Education Department has signed on to The Common Core and Race to the Top, two programs which require high stakes testing of our children. And she continues by saying Parents, however, did not sign on and have been organizing state wide to sign off.

Bisso added that Families which have educated themselves regarding the implications of this testing and the soon to be mandatory data mining of that testing information… Have a right to refuse these exams for their children.
