Lake Placid Middle High School Students will participate in the Act Out Loud Rally and Arrive Alive Safety Campaigns, taking place at the Lake Placid Middle High School Monday, May 5th through Friday, May 9th.
The Rally and Safety Campaign will kick off on Monday, May 5th at 10:30am and continue throughout the day where students will participate in the “Power Wall” event and “Oval Chalking”. During this event students will write safe driving messages on the oval in chalk and “tape” their safe driving answers on the wall. Public are invited and encouraged to attend the rally beginning at 1:50 p.m. to show support for our students and their driving/riding safety. The day includes “DJ” Paul Varga and will be videotaped for submission to the Act Out Loud Video Contest, a nationwide contest that encourages driving safety.
A mobile computer lab will be set up from Tuesday through Thursday for students to participate in the MADD Power of Youth on-line safety pledge and finally on Friday a seat-belt safety check will be conducted in the morning at the student parking lot by CYC staff.
The event is sponsored by the Lake Placid/Wilmington Connecting Youth and Communities Coalition and the Lake Placid Central School District.
