Road Work on Route 73 Taking a Memorial Weekend Break

It looks like Route 73 from Lisa G’s to the top of the hill by Lamb Lumber will be paved today and  if all goes well, the road will be completely open to traffic by the end of day..  but only for the weekend.. and then on Tuesday morning.. we understand the road will close again for bridge work and from that time on, there will be no access to or from Station Street.

Next week, the contractor plans to set the drains, and complete the necessary curb work and by Friday, they will put the base coat down on the bridge for the weekend.  Following that, beginning the week of June 2nd, there plan is to blacktop the entire project with the final topcoat.  Lake Placid’s Village Clerk Ellen Clark says if everything goes smoothly and weather permitting, the project could be finished as early as June 5th.
