Small Business Week

It’s officially Small Business Week and The Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce along with it’s partner organizations are Celebrating by hosting daily events throughout the entire week including Wellness Summits, Public Speaking Workshops, and tutorials on how to apply for grants…The Chamber is offering as much as they can in to ensure the success of small businesses during a new era for Saranac Lake. Katy Van Anden is the Executive Director of the Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce. She says there are a lot of things to look forward to; “The Chamber’s membership will be changing as these major projects are completed and we’ll have to continue to review our overall goals and the mission of the chamber in this region.”

Over the past several months, Van Anden and her events committee team have held various mixers and networking events all over the town from venues such as the town hall and Taylor Rental to name a few. Van Anden says they have been brainstorming and testing what events would best service their members. One of the events scheduled is the Adirondack Wellness Summit geared to showing local businesses how to take advantage of the new Wellness destination trend. The Wellness Summitt is Today (Tuesday 5/13/14) at 1pm..

One of the past events Van Anden says they’ve had success with they are offering this week is The Speed Networking Event. An event similar to speed dating which gives participants an opportunity to talk to a group of people one on one about their business. Van Anden says she feels its important to give our small businesses all the tools they need to grow with an area that will be changing in the near future.  All events are free or have reduced rates for all chamber members.
