April 30th – Rain or shine the work on Broadway in Saranac Lake continues today.. In fact Broadway will remain closed through the day today and at about 1pm one of the contractors will begin working on the Storm Drain – a perfect day for Storm Drain Repair actually as it looks like the rain may pick up about then as well.. Then at 6pm Trinity Construction will be back on the job continuing the overnight work on the Trunk Line replacement from Community Bank to Dorsey Street.. If all goes well, Broadway will re-open to traffic tomorrow morning at 6am..

In Lake Placid – Route 73 will be closed from May 6th through the 23rd between Mill Pond Drive and McIntyre Way and the Closure will include Station Street at the intersection near Lisa G’s..

April 29th – Contractors are targeting the Toughest part of the Infrastructure Reconstruction Project on Broadway in Saranac Lake this week.. The road was closed to traffic Monday night at 6pm and rather than opening during the day, DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora says Broadway was able to open today, but will likely be closed Wednesday during the day as well as the overnight hours Through Thursday Morning at 6:00 AM..

“The goal for the next few days is the installation of the new sewer trunk line across Broadway from Community Bank to Dorsey Street.” Dora Says, “Traffic barriers will be set up at the intersection of Broadway and Olive Street and All traffic will be detoured onto Olive Street. Dorsey Street will be closed for the same duration between the municipal parking lot and Broadway with the exception of local traffic only. And Broadway between Woodruff Street and Main Street will remain limited to two way traffic but to local traffic only. The parking lot on Berkley hill is open and will remain open for all downtown businesses.” The travelers are strongly urged to use alternate routes to get to their destination and to avoid downtown Broadway due to the detour.
