Henry’s Trail Play Area Work Days

AU SABLE FORKS – The Town of Jay would like to announce that the next scheduled work days for the Henry’s Trail play area project will be Thursday, June 26 from 5-7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 29 from 10 am – 2pm, Sunday, July 20 from 10am-2pm, Sunday, August 10, from 10am-2pm, and Monday, September 1 from 10am-2pm. Volunteers are encouraged to attend and you do not have to have any special building skills to attend.

The following items are needed for the trail and play areas;

(50-70) Hemlock branches- 1.5” – 2.0” diameter
(15-25) Hemlock logs – 12” – 20” diameter 7-10’
(3) Hemlock Boards – 6”-8” at least 7-8’ long
(1) 10” x 12’ log with pegs 1.5” x 6”
(3-4) 18”-24” diameter x 12” long peeled cedar/hemlock logs w/ cut out steps
(5) 12-18” diameter x 12’ long peeled cedar/hemlock logs
(3) 12”-18” diameter x 10’ long peeled cedar/hemlock logs
(3) 10×14” diameter 12’ long peeled cedar logs
(13) 4x4x10’ pressure treated
(3) 4x4x14” pressure treated
(3) 4x4x16’ pressure treated
2x5x6’ rough cut cedar/hemlock planks or composite lumber

If you have any of these items and are able to donate them to the project, please call the Town of Jay at 647-2204 for pick up. Monetary donations can be mailed to the Town of Jay at PO Box 730, Au Sable Forks, NY 12912 and earmarked in the check notation for “Henry’s Trail”

Their leadership through the planning and development of this project, which will benefit our entire community, has gone above and beyond what any of us could have ever expected and is greatly appreciated.
