Community Theatre Players is presenting their spring musical, The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum with Music and Lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. The script was adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, based upon the Classical Motion Picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros. This production is part of a worldwide celebration of the 75th anniversary of the 1939 motion picture starring Judy Garland. Performances will take place on June 5, 6 & 7 at 7:00PM, June 7 at 11AM and June 8 at 2PM at the Harrietstown Town Hall in Saranac Lake, NY. This production is directed by Matt Sorensen, with production design by Bonnie B. Brewer, choreography by Terpsie Toon and makeup design by Lizzie Romano. Joey Izzo is playing the accompaniment and Jessica Deeb is directing the Munchkins. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $10 for children 12 and under. Seating is general admission, and we cannot accept reservations. Tickets will be available at the door and payment can be made with cash or check only, no credit cards please. Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world.
