The Lake Placid Horse Show kicks off June 24th and work is being completed on the new footings being installed in all of the major rings at the North Elba Show Grounds. Today in the K&J Show we’re speaking with Lori Martin who is the Executive Director of the Lake Placid Horse Show Association. The stables are still empty but in less than 10 days the horse show grounds will house nearly 1,500 horses and their staff. Martin estimates 3 people for every horse on the grounds which means the tents will turn into a small village and vendors will follow with dry cleaning, anything you can imaging needing for a horse and for humans as well. The Horse Show Flags are going up as the event nears. Marty Bowman continues his regular updates on horse show competitors to give us a feel for how this years three events may shape up and we’ll be reporting on every aspect of horse show activity during the three weeks. The Lake Placid Horse Show kicks off June 24th, The I Love New York Horse Show begins Tuesday July 1st and runs through Sunday July 6th and week number three, the Adirondack Horse Show begins Tuesday July 8th and runs through Sunday July 13th.
