Lake Flower Water Levels Back to Normal by Friday

061014 - LOW WATER - SLIDESaranac Lake DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora tells WNBZ the water levels on Lake Flower should be back to normal by Friday if all goes well and the weather cooperates. The current water level at the Lake Flower Dam is at 13.5” below spillway and work continues on the installation of @ 460 feet of sewer line on Duprey St this week.  The contractor,  J.E. Sheehan Construction, has installed approximately 50% of the line and anticipates completion of sewer infrastructure on Friday June 13, 2014. Upon completion and testing of the sewer infrastructure the Village along with NYSDEC will begin to increase the water level above Lake Flower dam immediately. Beginning the week of June 16th, J.E. Sheehan Construction will begin the rebuilding of Duprey St from Lake Flower Ave to Tara Drive, this is anticipated to be completed by June 27, 2014. “I’d like to thank everyone for the patience,” Saranac Lake Mayor Clyde Rabideau commented, “we’re beginning to see the results of the work as curbs and sidewalks are installed on Broadway and Lake Flower Avenue, plus the water levels on Lake Flower and Kiwassa Lake will be going back up by the end of the week.”
