Three Lake Placid Trolleys Looking for New Life in Private Sector

The Village of Lake Placid continues a regular rotation of their trolley’s for public transportation..  This year, they’ve asked the county to declare three of their trolleys as surplus.. Lake Placid Mayor Craig Randall says there’s a process they go through with Essex County to replenish their inventory of Trolley’s for the village..  Last year, Lake Placid acquired a used trolley from the city of Watervliet which provided a substantial savings as the unit only had 19,000 miles. Typically, Mayor Randal added, these trolley’s will be good in the program until they reach 175,000 to 200,000 miles. “From there, the trolley’s are generally still in good condition and can be utilized in the private sector for many different purposes.” Mayor Randal said.
