A quick “Thank you” to The Adirondack Daily Enterprise for their coverage of High Peaks Hospice Radio Day Click here for a link to that story AND to Jim LaValley, for 22 years of Radio Days.. LaValley says goodbye to Radio Day after participating in every single event from it’s inception.. AND to LP Quinn Students for their continued interest in helping to support Radio Day with a pledge of $6,684.45.. AND to everyone in the community, especially “Anonymous” (You know who you are) who continue to support High Peaks Hospice. Just before 8pm, the final number was given.. It was under $50,000 by just a few hundred as volunteers were completing the final calculations but luckily Rick Knapton gave the fundraiser an additional 5 minutes on the air and pledging continued, bringing the number to just a smidgeon over $50,000 for the day. The Elks Club were again participating all day at the phones and there are so many involved in hospice and actively helping during the day that it would be difficult to name them all.
A programming note: Regular music and news programming will be pre-empted today as WNBZ and it’s Sister station ROCK105 along with our partners at Time Warner Cable take over the Redfield Board Room at AMC Saranac Lake Tuesday for the 22nd Annual High Peaks Hospice Radio day..
High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care is a rural, not-for-profit health care corporation composed of a caring team of professionals and volunteers who provide the full range of quality hospice services, primarily in the home, to all terminally ill individuals and their families in our region. The Hospice health care team provides physical care, emotional support and education to the entire family regardless of disability, diagnosis or ability to pay and today they’re asking for your support to help them continue their mission..
Radio Day will pre-empt regular programming on WNBZ and ROCK105 from 6am until 8pm and we invite you to spend some time with us as we talk about Hospice, speak with many who have been touched by the organization in one way or another and ask for your support..
