Happy 4th of July

Congressman Bill Owens invites residents of the 21st district to enjoy Independence Day Celebrations “This 4th of July is a great chance to spend time with important people in our lives and to reflect on the sacrifices of those first patriots who forged our great nation. Their legacy challenges us not to rest until all Americans can achieve the American Dream. Whether you celebrate the day at the grill or in a canoe, be safe, be mindful and enjoy yourself.” Owens Said, “I want to wish all the residents of New York’s 21st Congressional District a safe and happy Independence Day.”

According to AAA, 41 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more away from home during this Independence Day holiday weekend (July 2 – 6). This represents a 1.9 percent increase from the 40.3 million people who traveled last year. An estimated 85 percent of travelers will make this trip by car.

From the St. Lawrence River to Lake Champlain, New York’s 21st District has played host to countless historical events which have left a lasting impression on our nation.

This weekend, communities across the North Country will pay homage to these events with concerts, festivals and fireworks as we join together in honoring America. Adirondack.net has compiled a list of many of the fireworks celebrations in the region.
