The two co-chairs of the Battle of Plattsburgh Committee, Kit Booth and Greg Vancour say they’ve decided to call it quits after the Bicentennial Commemoration. Both Co-Chairs will be stepping down following the completion of this year’s event which is turning out to be much larger than years past. At a press conference Thursday, the two say their budget has doubled, and there could be as many as 200 re-enacters plus several special events and ceremonies commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Plattsburgh..
Join us Friday morning for the K&J show as we explore the event and speak with key members of the committee about the volunteers, events and of course the parade, which appears to be taking on a life of it’s own this year with over 13 bands and 100 floats.. The 4th grade poster contest is concluded and each of the top three winners are on hand to receive their prize, $100, $75 and $50 respectively. The winning posters will be on display throughout the battle of Plattbsburgh Commemoration.. The K&J Show will air at 6:30am and again at 8:10am during “The Morning News” and again at about 5:20pm inside the evening edition of the newscast on WNBZ.
