State “Chipping” in with Paving $ for Town of Plattsburgh

If you remember in July, the Plattsburgh Town Council voted to hire a surveyor to formally mark off 6 new one acre residential parcels on Route 3 in Cadyville… The town has operated a park there for years but it was owned by Clinton Community College..  In 2013, Clinton Community College decided to sell the park and the town decided to buy the park in order to protect 40 years of tradition, not to mention disc golf, at the Cadyville Park.. Since then,   they’ve been over the maps with the Surveyor and once the parcels are officially marked they’ll bring those plans to the planning board for their blessing..  We spoke recently with Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Bernie Bassett about the impact of these potential listings..  “It would almost be unfortunate not to put those properties on the tax roles,” Basset says, “That area has not been used for recreational purposes which also makes them already available.”
